WalMart's "Comparison Shopping Challenge" Ads

Visit Walmart's website
to see the ads for yourself.
I'm sure we've all seen these ads floating around. I certainly have. The prices they list are better at Walmart than at the competitor they're "challenging," but the prices aren't really all that good. While I can recognize that these are not good prices, I never went to the trouble of actually analyzing the ad to see just how far off they really are.

Luckily, I don't have to.

One of my favorite coupon queens just posted a write up including what you should pay for the items in her local "challenge" ad. So, go check out Jill Cataldo's "Where Walmart Gets it Wrong" post and see just how far off these ads are.

My Fave Deals—Week of 4/22

This week my fave deals both came from CVS, and were both money makers. The first item was a concealer stick from Physician's Formula. Right now, CVS will give you $7.00 Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) for any Physician's Formula purchase. I love deals like this because that means that if there are any items whose price is less than the ECB deal, they're paying me to try the product! I went with the Powder Finish Concealer Stick, which normally retails for $5.99. I then coupled the deal with a $1.00 off coupon from the 4/15 Smart Source insert and made $2.00 on the deal! Point of note on this one: if the price of item is less than the ECBs, you may have to ask the cashier to manually print the ECBs. My cashier was more than happy to do so.

In the same shopping trip, I also scored some free eye drops. Right now, CVS has Blink Tears (normally $8.99) for free after ECBs. When you add in the $1.00 off coupon found here, it's also a $1.00 money maker.

Happy shopping!

How to Get $10 off 10 boxes of Kelloggs Cereal, and $10 More Back in the Mail!

I've done the rebate half of this last time around, and certainly will be cashing in again!

Right now on coupons.com there's a coupon for $5.00 off any five boxes of Kellogg's cereal, 10 oz. or larger, which expires 3/19/12. If you don't see it under your zip code, try 79415.

If you go to this link, you can print off a rebate form for $10 back when you send in 10 UPCs from participating Kellogg's cereals. Must be postmarked by 4/30/12.

Around here it is not unheard of to find these cereals on sale for about $2/box, but $2.50 is a fairly common price point. You can bet I'll be watching my grocery ads for Kellogg's sales!
